StayLocal works when seekers and listers act in good faith. These guidelines apply to every interaction on the Platform — listings, enquiries, reviews, reports, and any future messaging features.
Be honest
Represent yourself, your property, and your intentions truthfully. No impersonation, no fake identities, no "agent posing as owner", no bait listings, no fake availability. Honour the terms you advertise.
Be lawful
Listings and conduct must comply with Indian law. Discrimination prohibited by applicable law has no place on StayLocal. Content violating Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021 (obscene, defamatory, invasive of privacy, harmful to minors, misleading, unlawful) is removed.
Be respectful
No harassment, threats, hate speech, stalking, or sexual content directed at any user. Persistent unwanted contact after a clear "no" is harassment.
Respect privacy
Contact details revealed to you exist for the enquiry at hand — never for marketing lists, resale, publication, or spam. Do not post anyone else's personal data (doxxing), including in reviews or reports.
Keep the marketplace clean
- One listing per property; duplicates are detected and removed.
- Keep availability current — stale listings mislead everyone and lose ranking automatically.
- No fake, incentivised, or retaliatory reviews; no review extortion in either direction.
- No knowingly false or bad-faith reports (report-bombing is itself a violation and is auditable).
- No spam, chain content, pyramid/referral schemes, or off-topic promotion.
No platform abuse
No scraping, automation against our APIs, security probing, fee circumvention, ban evasion via new accounts, or manipulation of search ranking.
Enforcement
Violations are handled under the Content Moderation Policy with graduated consequences up to termination. Report problems at /report — reviewed within 48 hours. Appeals per the Grievance Redressal Policy.
